A bookkeeper appeared in court yesterday on 13 charges of stealing from Wollongong Radio Cabs.
Diane Margaret Robinson pleaded guilty to stealing $7150 from the company where she had processed accounts since 1999.
When it was discovered that $1100 had not been paid in bank fees, Robinson initially told her boss she must have accidentally thrown the money in the bin.
She later confessed to two counts of stealing property as a clerk. In Wollongong Local Court she pleaded guilty to a further 11 charges involving $6050. The 13 offences took place between January and July this year.
The court heard Robinson was of good character and had never been in trouble with the law before.
Magistrate Julie Huber decided to give Robinson a second chance yesterday and recorded no conviction on the stealing matters. Instead she ordered the 38-year-old to be of good behaviour for two years.
