THE mobile phone has outranked the umbrella for items left in Wollongong cabs with at least one handed in to lost property every week.

A new survey in Britain found 600,000 people dropped their mobile phone in the toilet last year, 400,000 dropped it into a drink, and 200,000 accidentally bundled it into the washing.
